Awareness
Awareness = Self (Self + Context)

The first step in the development of high performance is the cultivation of awareness. To become aware is to begin to notice the gap between one’s vision of themselves and the actions that person takes that are not congruent with that vision. How do I condition myself to become more conscious at the levels of self, team, and business?
Awareness requires the conscious discipline of “involved observing.” To be in the game and to see the game at the same time. We begin to see how to operate in certain situations and what sort of conversations or occurrences at home or at work trigger specific reactions or responses. It is learning to listen to one’s internal discourse about life, work, self, and team.
When individuals operate at low levels of awareness, there are few options available. They simply cannot “see” many choices. There are always options and choices available when there is greater awareness.
